Sudden Valley Community Association Employees Join Local 231

A group of 30 employees working for Sudden Valley Community Association have voted to join Teamsters Local 231. The workers, who take care of the grounds, roads, golf course, parks, marina, administration, and accounting voted strongly in favor of becoming Teamsters. The final election results should be certified by the National Labor Relations Board soon.
The successful organizing campaign was spearheaded by Rich Ewing, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 231. The group decided to become Teamsters with a goal of having a voice in their working conditions, pay and benefits. “We are proud to have these dedicated workers join Teamsters Local 231 and we are excited to begin the process of negotiating their first Collective Bargaining Agreement.” said Secretary-Treasurer Rich Ewing.
Founded in 1909, Teamsters Local 231 represents 2,200 working men and women in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and Snohomish Counties.
