Ridwell Employees Ratify First Teamster Contract

On Sunday July 9, 2023, the employees at Ridwell in Bellingham unanimously voted to approve their first Teamster Collective Bargaining Agreement. This group of Drivers and Warehouse workers will now enjoy the protections and benefits of a Teamster contract. Included in the contract are the protections of just cause in disciplinary actions, seniority, and successor language; normally only found in mature contracts. The members also secured an excellent vacation schedule that has them receiving 4 weeks of vacation when they have completed 4 years of employment. Additionally, the members will receive a minimum raise of $6.50 per hour at the Bellingham location and have the unique opportunity for a Stock Option Program. Congratulations to these new Teamsters Local 231 members for their success in this amazing first contract.
