Congratulations to the members of our new bargaining unit at Skagit Public Utility District (PUD) who on February 7^th, ratified their first collective bargaining agreement.  The employees working in customer service at Skagit PUD elected to join Teamsters Local 231 in late 2022. Over the course of the past year, the Union and the PUD have worked through negotiations to develop a collective bargaining agreement for these hardworking essential employees.  The two-year collective bargaining agreement includes improvements to the working conditions for the customer service department employees such as daily overtime, a just cause provision for discipline, and a structured wage scale with annual increases and opportunities for training and development. The members of the newly formed bargaining unit at the PUD are excited to have a voice in the workplace, and the support of their Union brothers and sisters at Teamsters Local 231! Special thanks goes out to shop steward Tina Lloyd for her hard work and commitment at the bargaining table as we worked to achieve this first contract.
