Teamsters Local 231 is excited to welcome the 36 Teachers of The Franklin Academy to the Union! The group reached out to the Teamsters in late Fall, 2025, hoping to gain the Union representation they deserve. After weeks of hard work by the committee the teachers had built, the Teamsters were able to file a petition on their behalf with the National Labor Relations Board on January 29, 2026. The group overwhelmingly voted to join the Teamsters on March 5^th, and the Teamsters will soon begin the process of negotiating the group’s first ever Collective Bargaining Agreement!

The Franklin Academy’s teaching staff possess strong, genuine care for the students that they teach, and have set out to ensure that their workplace is one conducive to their goal of providing the best education possible for their classes. The group is looking forward to working with the Teamsters and the Academy’s Administration to improve their workplace.
